This church is located on the border of Romania with Bulgaria. The town is called Mănăstirea, which is in the Călărași county, about 55 miles Southeast of the capital, Bucharest.
This is one of Romania Mission’s main churches, being the center of our children’s program, where at times over 150 of them attend at once. We have a variety of activities that the children take part in such as different bible centered games, after school, Christian movies and more.
Our focus is to nurture them into the right direction using the Word of God, thus transforming both the community in which they live and its future.
Saturday afternoons are dedicated to our Mărețul Har (Amazing Grace) bible school, where the parents and different adult members gather to learn the Word of God and pray for the different issues that are going on in their community at that time.
Through this fellowship, 3 churches have been planted within a 12-mile radius: Nana, Luica and Curcani.
There are approximately 40 different families that attend this church on a weekly basis.
Mănăstirea is home to over 350 thousand people, with more than 20% of them being picked up by a bus on a day-to-day basis to sweep the streets of the capital which is about an hour and a half away.
Most of them work in the fields though, agriculture being their main source of income.
Other than leading them to Christ and teaching them the word of God, one of the main challenges we have come across recently is finding qualified people that would be able to teach them a trait or skillset, thus helping them bare fruit and improving their livelihood.
